Classwork and Homework:

Students will have daily classwork and homework. Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday; homework is rarely assigned over the weekend or holidays, unless it is an ongoing project.

Late work is graded down 10% each day it is late, up to 30%. Students have five schools days to turn in a late assignment . If a student is absent, they have two days to make-up their missed work or it may be marked as late. If they are absent multiple days, please have them communicate with me, and we will work out a schedule for missing work.

Re-takes of tests/quizzes are not allowed

Student Support/Grade Recovery

RETAKES for TESTS: In ELA, we do not allow retakes on tests and quizzes.

GRADE RECOVERY: If a student receives a zero on an assignment because it was not turned in within the 5 day window should communicate with Mrs. Michalak to see if the assignment can still be completed for some credit.

STUDENT Progress- Student progress can be monitored several ways. The easiest and quickest way is to log onto Aeries.net. Aeries gives you an up-to date look at your child's progress in every class. It also allows you to see assignments that are missing and assignments that were turned in late.

WEEKLY GRADE CHECKS: Starting the third week of school, students will be completing a weekly grade check. This grade check will be signed by me and will appear in the students notebook. If the student's grade is a C- or below, they will be required to get a parent's signature on their grade check.
