Welcome to Future Trails
Future Trails, our community engagement process, began in the fall of 2017 and continued through the fall of 2018. Community members were invited through a variety of means, including postcards mailed to all residents and personal invitations from committee members knocking on doors.
Unlike traditional, one-way communication efforts, the cornerstone of Future Trails is the value it places on people through participatory, grassroots involvement and community-based planning. Everyone who was interested had a voice in the process. By taking an active role, all residents helped create solutions to the challenges ahead and assisted in crafting a plan to address the District’s facility challenges.

Referendum Options Forums took place on:
SEPT. 20 - EUCLID FROM 6-8PM
SEPT. 22 - RTMS 10AM-1PM
OCT. 2 - INDIAN GROVE 5:30-7PM
Future Trails will continue in the 2018-2019 school year by hosting Options Forums to provide River Trails School District’s residents the opportunity to learn more about the District’s facility challenges, potential options, and to provide feedback regarding those options. Everyone in the community is encouraged to participate in this special public engagement initiative.

Thank you to all community members who submitted their surveys either online or via the mail. We are no longer taking surveys at this time. The Future Trails Committee is now gathering all this information and formulating a plan to present to the Board at the November 6, 2018 Board of Education Meeting scheduled for 7PM at the Admin Building (ESC Bldg), 1900 E Kensington.

Dear River Trails School District 26 Community:
River Trails School District 26 has launched an exciting new community engagement process called Future Trails. Through a series of community workshops, the district will gather data and input to identify community priorities related to the development of a long-range improvement plan.
Starting with our first two meetings on November 6th and December 4th, all community members are invited to participate in our community engagement workshop meetings. Each meeting will take place in the River Trails Middle School cafeteria from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. While informational presentations will be made at each meeting, the key focus will be providing all participants with the opportunity to roll up sleeves and work collaboratively with neighbors on reaching consensus on decisions that will improve our schools.
The focus is to help guide the direction of the District for the next several years and to insure our District continues to fully meet the needs of all students.
