Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

4 medium tart cooking apples sliced

¾ cup packed brown sugar

½ cup flower ( all purpose)

½ cup oats

¾ teaspoon cinnamon

¾ teaspoon nutmeg


Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Grease an 8” square pan.

Mix everything else and sprinkle over the apples.

Bake for 30 min. Or until golden and the apples are tender.

Enjoying: beast served warm with vanilla ice cream or by itself.

Strawberry Dream Cake

Ingredients:

Cake:

1 package white cake mix

1 package strawberry jello (3 oz)

1 package frozen sliced strawberries, thawed and divided (10oz)

½ cup vegetable oil

Frosting:

4 eggs

½ cup butter, softened

1 ib. Powdered sugar

½ packaged strawberries pureed

½ teaspoon vanilla

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Empty cake mix into a bowl, add jello. Pour ½ package of strawberries in a blender; pour into a measuring cup and add enough water to make ¾ cup. Add with oil and eggs to cake mixture. Beat mixture for 3 min. At medium speed or until creamy. Pour batter into greased floured cake pan. Cool in pan for 15 min. Loosen cake from slides of pan and finish cooling on a cake rack.

For frosting

Instructions:

Beat butter until smooth. Add sugar with strawberries beat until smooth, add vanilla. Spread frosting over cake. Garnish with whole or sliced strawberries if desired.

Banana Bread

Ingredients:

3 bananas mashed

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup of sugar

½ cup of lard and butter (¼ of each mixed and melted)

2 tablespoons of sour milk

2 cups of sifted flour

1 teaspoons baking soda

½ cups of chopped nuts

¼ teaspoons of salt


Instructions:

Mix ingredients

Place in greased and floured pan

Preheat oven to 350oF

Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites

Ingredients:

2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast (about 4 breasts)

1.5 pounds of package good quality bacon

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 tablespoons of chili powder

1 teaspoons of paprika

¼ teaspoons cayenne pepper

1 teaspoons of garlic powder

1 teaspoons of onion powder


Instructions:

Preheat oven 350oF

Cut chicken breasts into 1 inch cubes

Cut each bacon slice into half

Wrap each chicken cube with bacon

In a medium mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder and onion powder

Dredge the wrapped chicken in mixtures.Place on a foil-lined baking pan.

Bake for 25 minutes the flip the bites over. Bake for another 10 minutes (or until the bacon is crispy)

IF YOU USED THICK BACON AND PRE-COOKED THE BACON THEY ONLY NEED TO COOK FOR 25 MINUTES. (STILL TURN THEM OVER HALF WAY THROUGH COOKING.)
