8th-Grade News
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the end of the trimester and the Thanksgiving holiday, we’d like to share some important updates along with tips to help your child succeed during this busy time.
Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 27th-29th
End of First Trimester: Wednesday, December 6th
Tips for Supporting Student Success:
Create a Homework Plan: Sit down with your child to review their assignments and set priorities. Breaking tasks into manageable steps can make them feel less overwhelming.
Monitor Progress: Check your child’s grades and assignments regularly. Many schools have online platforms where you can track their performance. If you do not currently have access, email tech at tech@rsu19.net.
Foster Good Study Habits: Encourage your child to study in a quiet, distraction-free environment and set a consistent daily study time.
Promote Rest and Balance: Remind your child to take breaks, eat well, and get plenty of sleep. A well-rested mind is key to staying focused and productive.
Communicate with Teachers: If you have concerns or questions about your child’s progress, don’t hesitate to reach out to their teachers for guidance.
Daily Materials Checklist
To ensure your child is prepared for success each day at school, please remind them to bring the following materials:
A fully charged laptop.
Necessary textbooks and notebooks
Writing supplies (pens, pencils, highlighters)
A water bottle and healthy snacks
We are grateful for your partnership in helping your child succeed and thrive. Wishing you a joyful Thanksgiving and a successful end to the trimester!
Warm regards,
