YOU are why we do what we do - you have and continue to advocate for more high-quality public school options in your own zip codes and school communities. It is unacceptable that in 2024, families across this country must often still lie about their home address to have any hope of accessing a high-quality public school.
Changing the status quo requires incredible grit, strength, advocacy, and more from our families and communities. Rocketship Texas is no exception as our parent leaders fuel transformational change in our home community of Fort Worth and beyond.

20 Rocketship Staff & Parents - including 2 parents and 1 staff from Rocketship Texas - attended the National Charter School Hill Days in Washington, DC, this week.
They joined a coalition of over 100 staff and parents representing Charter schools from all over the country. The coalition conducted 109 Meetings with Senators and Representatives from their states.
Rocketship staff & parents met with 17 Senators & Representatives' offices from their states to share their stories and advocate for increased Charter School Funding through the CSP program, increased funding for Title 1 schools, investment in evidence-based strategies to meet students' mental health needs, and common sense gun reform legislation to keep kids, schools, and communities safe from gun violence:
4 Senators: Butler (CA), Johnson (WI), Baldwin (WI), Cruz (TX)
13 Representatives:
Peneta, Lofgren, Lee, Garmendi (CA)
Moore, Johnson (WI)
Williams, Crockett, Foxx (TX)
Norton (DC), Aderholt (AL), McBath (GA)
Anna Hinton - Director of Charter School Programs, US Dept. of Education
Our Rocketship Public Schools Group also had the opportunity to hear Senator Bennett (CO) speak to the coalition about advocating for investment in education, mental health services, and gun safety and security for our schools and communities.
They also participated in a forum with leading White House Gun Violence Prevention advocates, including Rob Wilcox, the Deputy Director of the newly appointed White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, where they asked critical questions about how parents can lead in advocating for increased resources and policy to decrease gun violence in their schools and communities.
They capped off our three days in DC with a tour of the Capitol Building, where they learned about the history of our three branches of government and saw where it all takes place. Some even got to see the Senate in session on the Senate floor!
Rocketship Texas teachers lay the foundation for your child's entire education. They ignite a love for learning that can last a lifetime. They patiently teach reading, writing, and math, the cornerstones of future academic success. But more than that, they foster social skills, emotional intelligence, and a sense of wonder.
Their days are filled with challenges, but a "thank you" or a heartfelt note of appreciation from you can mean the world. It shows them their hard work is valued and their impact is real, fueling their passion to inspire young minds.

In-School Tutoring
Beacon Hill will now serve grades K-2 for the remainder of the school year. Beacon Hill is a tutoring company that partners with Rocketship Public Schools to provide in-school tutoring services during the Learning Lab. We have strategically chosen 40 students to participate in the program.
When visiting Rocketship Explore:
