Mr. Pottinger

Welcome! 

My name is Brian Pottinger and I'm the Driver Education instructor at RAHS.  I also teach a few Physical Education courses each semester.

I graduated from Belvidere High School in 1987 and received my bachelor's degree in Physical Education/Secondary Education from Augustana College (Illinois) in 1992.   My first job after college was working as a Teacher Assistant in the PH (Physically Handicapped) department at Palatine High School.   While there I worked toward my certification in Driver and Traffic Safety at Northern Illinois University.  In 1993 I was hired by Rock Island HS (Illinois) to teach Driver Education and coach football and softball.  In 1995 I began work on a master's degree in Sports Management at Western Illinois University.  I completed my degree in 1998 and remained in Rock Island until 2006 when I was hired to be a teacher and head football coach at Reedsburg Area HS.  

My wife, Carol, teaches 4K in the Reedsburg District at Pineview Elementary.
