Project-based LEarning

Teachers will have the opportunity to participate in a 3-day Buck Institute training during the summer to learn how to develop interdisciplinary projects and collaborate with their grade-level teams to begin the work. (Week of August 14)

Summit Personalized Learning (6th Grade)

Sixth Grade Teachers will receive a week-long training on how to successfully implement Summit Personalized Learning: http://summitbasecamp.org/ (Week of July 24)

1:1 Technology

Teachers will have the opportunity to receive training on effective instructional technology implemention, including how to use our agreed-upon Learning Management System (LMS), Google G-Suite (docs, sheets, slides, sites), eBinders, and digital cornell notes. (Beginning this Spring)

Teachers will have the opportunity to receive training on standards-based grading. We may do a book study.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Teachers will have the opportunity to receive training on how to incorporate SEL at least into Advisory.


AVID Site Planning and AVID Summer Institute for two teachers and one counselor (August 1-3).


English teachers across RSD will receive training on the newly adopted ELA textbook (Date set by TLC).


The University of Washington Center for Educational Leadership's 5 Dimensions of Teaching and Learning (CEL-5D+) will be utilized not only for evaluation but also for coaching. Each teacher will receive coaching from an administrator on 6 indicators of their own choosing. This differentiated support will enable us to practice one of our school's Learner Outcomes: Growth.
