NM Public Education Department Information: Supporting Students

Hello families of Sandia Vista!

The SVE counseling program is aligned with the National Model of the

American School Counselor Association (ASCA).

My goal as a school counselor is to work in collaboration with families, teachers, and staff to support the academic, career, and personal/social development for all students. I will be working toward this goal in the following ways:

Guidance Curriculum: I will be teaching guidance lessons in classrooms throughout the school year. I will use a variety of curriculum including Ripple Effects, Second Step and Kelso's Choice . These promote social skill development, emotional regulation and problem solving.

Virtual Lunch Bunch: I am offering virtual lunch bunch groups to students so that they have an opportunity to socialize with their grade level peers from other virtual classes! Please email me at jaime.david@rrps.net if you are interested in your child participating.

Individual Counseling: Students may be referred to me for individual counseling if they need additional support at school or if community information is needed for outside counseling services.

Collaboration: Please call me at 338-2526, ext. 54320 if there is anything I can help you with or if you have any questions.
