Welcome to 4th grade and the 2025-2026 school year! Teaching is my passion, and I will work hard to motivate students to learn and grow. I’m determined to make this a memorable year! To me it is all about engagement. If I’m engaged, I know students will feed off of that. Creating a class team is a priority and experiencing memories together that will last a lifetime are important to me. We are in this together and our success will depend on our success as a team. Let’s pledge to have “Get to” rather than “Have to” attitudes and celebrate the small wins. Let’s be better today than we were yesterday and be stronger than our excuses. Finally, let’s remember we are stronger together! I’m sure this will be the best year ever!
I grew up in the Midwest and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Elementary/ Special Education. I earned my Masters from Walden University in Curriculum & Assessment. I’m one of the few people who knew at the age of eight that I would be a teacher. I started babysitting when I was in the fourth grade and would “play” school with the kids I babysat. After living in Seattle, WA for 16 years, my family moved to Rio Rancho in 2012. I’ve been married for 38 years. My husband is the worship pastor at Vertical Church in Albuquerque. We have one son, Keenan. He just recently accepted a position as a recruiter for EST Companies in Tempe, Arizona. He and his wife, Sarah will moving from Washington state at the end of the month.. They just had our first grandchild, Lila, in December. We “got to” spend 2 weeks with her this summer.
