Oboe

"The Sound of My Oboe Makes Me Happy!"

Patience! Patience! Patience!

Double Trouble

The Oboe is a double reed woodwind instrument. This means that the oboist blows air through a double reed, two pieces of wood that are tied together with string around a small metal tube, in order to make a sound. The oboe is an amazing and unique instrument that holds a very special place in music. It is capable of sounding both soft and loud and can be very expressive. Fun Fact: Have you have ever seen or heard Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf? Prokofiev used the oboe to represent the duck character in his masterpiece.
