ELL Information

The first ELD goal as a language teacher is to build strong relationships with students and their families. I appreciate the rich and diverse cultural backgrounds of our school population. I invite all parents of language learners to be a part of family involvement at Maggie Cordova Elementary.

English Language groups are focusing on supporting English acquisition through listening, speaking, reading, and writing. English Language Development standards and materials are used to meet students' individual English needs. The focus is on reading foundational skills, academic vocabulary, word work, speaking, and writing. During speaking practice, students are practicing using complete sentences with correct English grammar and adding details to speak complex sentences.
