About Me

My name is Gillian Welch. I am a 2nd grade teacher at Ernest Stapleton Elementary School in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. I have three children of my own, who are all grown and live in Albuquerque.

I have been an elementary school teacher for 14 years in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, teaching every grade level from K-5 (except for 3rd).

Both of my parents were educators, and my sister is as well. Teaching is a very challenging, yet rewarding career. I love seeing the excitement when students learn new things.

My goal is to engage my students in their learning, stimulate their curiosity about the world around them, and make learning fun for them at the same time, because I believe that students will become lifelong learners if they enjoy the process!!
