How do I get an assignment with RRD Content Source?

After registering as a writer or editor with RRD Content Source, you will be contacted by a project manager when a new project comes up that is a fit with your experience. Once that happens, you can get new assignments in one of two ways.

Claiming assignments

For projects with multiple writers and editors and a large number of assignments, you can choose the assignments to work on from a list in Available Work. Before the project starts, a project manager will let you know how many assignments each writer or editor can take for that particular project.

To claim an assignment:

Select Available Work. (On the RRD Content Source homepage, the Available Work button appears below Things That Are Ready To Be Worked On.)
Click Accept for the assignment you want to accept. If it is the first time you’ve done work for a publisher, you will be asked to accept the Publisher Agreement.
The assignment will move from Available Work to Things That Are Ready To Be Worked On or Tasks That You Have Accepted Or Are Committed To In The Future, depending on when it will be ready for you to work on.*

*If the assignment does not move to either of these sections, someone else likely claimed it at the same time. Refresh your page and choose a different assignment.

Note: For regular assignments, you can also use Auto Claim to receive a certain number of assignments without needing to claim them manually.

Direct assignments

A project manager can also assign something to you directly. In these cases, the assignment will appear immediately in the Things That Are Ready To Be Worked On or Tasks That You Have Accepted Or Are Committed To In The Future sections. No action is needed to accept the assignment.
