Mrs. Angie Franklin graduated from Averett University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and in 2009 with her Master’s degree in Teaching from Louisiana College.  In 2013, she received an additional Masters in Educational Leadership from Northwestern State University and graduated in 2023 with a Doctorate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she studied Educational Leadership with a focus on Montessori and school culture. Dr. Franklin recently completed her certification in Montessori School Leadership from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies in 2022. 
She spent ten years teaching various grades from 1st through 6th grade in Rapides Parish at Peabody Montessori before moving out of the classroom to an Assistant Principal position at Forest Hill Jr High. Mrs. Angie Franklin became the principal of Mabel Brasher in 2017 when the transition to Montessori began. Together with her team of educators, Mrs. Angie Franklin is working to make a difference in the lives of the students at Mabel Brasher Montessori.
Dr. Angie Franklin and her husband, Ryan, have two children; Olivia and Neil.  She loves spending time with her family, traveling, and attending church as a family. She is committed to creating an enriched Montessori environment where faculty and students can thrive.  She truly believes that, as Dr. Maria Montessori once stated, “The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.”  

Tammy Sandoval

Mrs. Sandoval graduated from LSU in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and in 2009 with her Master's degree in Educational Leadership. In 2011, she received National Board Certification in Early Childhood before leaving the classroom. Mrs. Sandoval recently completed her certification in Montessori School Leadership from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies in 2022. 
She spent fourteen years teaching various grades from 1st through 5th in Rapides Parish before moving out of the classroom to positions as Master Teacher, Curriculum Specialist, and then Turnaround Specialist for the district. Mrs. Sandoval became Assistant Principal of Mabel Brasher six years ago, and enjoys her daily position of working collaboratively with our students, teachers, staff, and families to increase academic performance. 
Tammy and her husband, Santi, enjoy traveling, cooking, gardening, and spending a lot of fun time with their children and eight grandchildren. 
Mrs. Sandoval believes that through collaboration we can continue to promote and establish the high academic standards and expectations necessary for our students to achieve as well or better than students across our state and country. 

Emily Swenson

Mrs. Swenson graduated from Louisiana College in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education and earned her Masters in Early Childhood Education from University of Phoenix in 2011.   In 2020, she completed her Montessori teaching certification from CGMS, and her Montessori Coaching Certification from the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector. Mrs. Swenson also completed her certification in Montessori School Leadership from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies in Fall 2022. 
She has spent 20 years in education teaching various grade levels from PreK through 6th grade. Mrs. Swenson has been the Montessori Coach at Brasher since 2017. 
Emily and her husband, Josh, have three children. She enjoys traveling with her family, reading new novels, and watching Netflix! Mrs. Swenson believes that every child can learn to THINK for themselves and solve problems so they can become productive members of our society that push others around them to be better people.
