About OBC

The Occoquan Boat Club was founded in 1979 to recruit members interested in rowing, sponsor crew races, send teams to regattas, and generally support rowing in Northern Virginia. Club members have access to an enviable fleet of race-worthy singles, doubles/pairs and quads/straight four shells. Rowers of all ages join the club for recreation as well as competition. Members enjoy some of the most reasonable membership fees of any club in the area.

The club’s fleet is housed at Sandy Run Park on the Occoquan Reservoir, which boasts some of the best rowing conditions in the mid Atlantic region. OBC does not offer coached programs, but members gather regularly to perform race pieces or recreational outings.

Each year OBC sponsors two highly regarded regattas: the Head of the Occoquan (HOTO) held in early November and the Occoquan Memorial Sprints (OMS) held in July.
