FAQ's

1. "Why do I have a missing for an assignment that I turned in?"

This will happen if an assignment is turned in without a name or if you failed to turn in the assignment on the day it was due. I will assign a Missing in the gradebook (HAC) for that assignment. (When there is no name written on a paper there is no way for me to know who that paper belongs to.) Once the Missing is entered in the gradebook (HAC) you will have 5 school days to look through the no-name stack and claim your assignment. **This must done during tutorials and NOT during class time.**

A Missing in the gradebook does count as a zero. Do not panic. The Missing is simply a placeholder to remind you that you need to turn in an assignment.

Check the NO NAME BIN in class for your paper, write your name on it, and turn in back into the class period inbox.

2. "I'm confused about the lesson/work we did the other day?"

Anytime you are unsure about the work that was assigned or don't quite understand the lesson that was covered in class, come see me during tutorials so we can review the lesson and walk through the expectations of the work that was assigned. **You can find my tutorial times on the Contact/Tutorials tab on my website.**

I'm in tutorials to help you!!!!

3. "But I thought I turned that assignment in?"

If you think you turned something in, first double check your backpack and folders etc. If you still can not find your assignment, come see me in tutorials and we will check the inboxes and work together to find a solution. I am not perfect, but I do my absolute best to not misplace any papers.

4. "I didn't do well on my quiz/test. What can I do to get a better grade?"

Once you are aware of your grade, district policy says you have 5 school days to attend tutorials for a reteach and within those 5 days you must also complete the retake of that quiz or test you need to make up. Both of these requirements must be completed within the allotted 5 school days.

5. "I was absent yesterday, what did I miss?"

The following sources are available to you to get all the materials needed to complete your makeup work. It is your responsibility to access these sources on your own time. You will have the exact number of days that you were absent to make up any work you missed. **If you have any questions please see me during tutorials or make an appointment.**

  • ABSENT Table: The Absent Table is located in the back of the room. You will find extra handouts that were given or used in class that particular week. You are responsible for printing off any assignment handouts from Google Classroom if you cannot find them in class.
  • Google Classroom - assignments/notes/handouts/links/Vocab will be posted on the classwork tab, organized by Unit. Announcements will be posted on the stream tab.
  • Vocabulary - keep up with this for our quizzes! Vocab will always be posted on Google Classroom
  • Calendar - Shows a tentative agenda of what we're covering in class.

The best way to keep up with your work is to be sure everything on your Google Classroom "To do" list is complete!!!!!

Be watching Google Classroom!!! And Be Checking The Gradebook because that is where you will see all missing work!

6. "When do you put in grades?"

  • I do my best to have all grades updated by each Monday.
  • Late work is graded as time allows throughout the week, because it was late and I already graded those. If late, you get to wait :)
  • If an assignment is due on Friday, but you turn it in the following week, it is late and I will begin taking 10 points off for each late day.

I am flexible when it comes to emergencies or special case by cases situations.

I'm very open to communication and will do my best to reply promptly.

Thank you and let's make this a great year!
