At this time, there are several alternative accelerated learning pathways for students entering the 6th grade, which do not require TAG identification. Contingent upon their classroom performance and 5th grade STAAR scores, students are eligible for Accel 1 Math, which aligns with the TAG Math curriculum. Additionally, students have the option to take a qualifying exam for Accel 2 Math. A score of 80% or higher, would permit students to take Algebra in the 7th grade instead of the 8th grade.Students have the opportunity to enroll in Accelerated Science without undergoing an assessment.
Unsure of the difference between Accelerated Classes and TAG Classes? Here is some information to consider before registering for your child to test.
