Parents, we have a new link on our research resources page that allows students to see our database usernames and passwords. Students must be logged into their district Google accounts to access this pdf. Parents may not access this page with a non-RRISD account.

Math Superstars Link

Like the Facebook page for updated information. The Facebook page is “Patsy Sommer Elementary Math Superstars”.

Just want to clarify that the new coach for all 2nd graders will be -

Math Superstars2.

Coming Up: January 14th-18th

Reading/SS: Students will be finding the main idea in non-fiction texts.

Writing: We will begin a unit on letter writing including all the essential parts of a letter: heading, greeting, body, closing, and signature.

Spelling and Grammar: Spelling words for the week are begin, close, door, girl, leave, open, slow, upon.

Science: We will understand that objects in the sky (sun, moon, and clouds) change over time in recognizable patterns.

Math: Students will determine the area of a rectangle by using concrete square units.



Last Week: January 8th-11th

Reading/SS: Students will analyzing the theme of fables, myths, legends, and tall tales.

Writing: We will review the writing process by creating a personal narrative from a small moment idea.

Spelling and Grammar: There are no sight words this week.

Science: We will understand that objects in the sky (sun, moon, and clouds) change over time in recognizable patterns.

Math: Students will determine the area of a rectangle by using concrete square units.
