This year marks my twenty-fourth year of teaching and my tenth year at Teravista. I was born in West Texas; however, I left the United States at the early age of 2. The majority of my childhood was spent overseas. I have lived in five different countries: Spain, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. I am very blessed to have experienced many unique customs and cultures throughout my roots. I learned at an early age to appreciate the differences that develop our character.
I've been married for 29 years. I have two amazing daughters, ages 21 and 24, as well as a cat named Jitterbug and a chicken named Gertie. I love to hike (the Smoky Mountains are my favorite), camp and ride fast roller coasters with huge drops.
My favorite memories of school throughout my childhood always included my teachers. They allowed me to be me. Through their eyes, I was exceptional just the way I was. This is the reason why I teach today. I am thrilled to spend this year partnering with you on this journey of your child's life.
