Purple Sage Science Fair
Science Fair is OPTIONAL for all grades K-5. However, only students in grades 3-5 who place and receive a notification letter at the school fair will be eligible to participate in the Austin Energy Regional Science Fair.
*Due to Austin Energy Regional rules - K - 2 students will only be able to share their projects with their classmates, and projects will be on display at the school.

3rd - 5th Grades:
In order for your child to participate, you must make sure students:
- Print and fill out the Media Release and Research form that you will find on the “Important Information” link to the right. TAPE these to the back of your child’s project.
- Bring the project to school by January 9th.
November 10, 2016 Science Fair information is disseminated to students via Broadcast and e-news.
January 9, 2017 All projects are due. Please make sure the following is on the back of the project.
Classroom teacher’s name
Type of project (experiment or exhibit)
Tape the Media Release and Research Form on the back of your child’s project.
Drop the project off in your teacher’s classroom. Students will share projects with their classmates on January 9th.
Students (in Grades 3-5) will bring their projects to the library for judging by 3:00 p.m.
January 10, 2017 Judging will take place at school. Only the top 12 projects from grades 3-5 will advance to the Regional Science Fair. Finalists will receive a list of necessary items to turn in to go to the Regional Fair.
January 13, 2017 Finalists must turn in all required forms to the school office.
February 17, 2017 Austin Regional Science Fair for grades 3-5 qualifying participants. Projects must be registered through school only)
