Welcome to Elementary Art in my 2 Art Rooms! I teach kindergarten through fifth grade art at Great Oaks Elementary and Blackland Prairie Elementary. Every year is completely fun and MESSY and each classroom is completely different. I have always loved the creative process and I think there is nowhere better to be than in an art room full of kids with paintbrushes... or in 2 art rooms, I guess?
I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Specialization in Art. I have taught for RRISD in Middle School and Elementary for a total of 10 years. This is my 6th year teaching Elementary Art at Great Oaks and my 4th year at Blackland. For two years before teaching at Blackland, I was at Great Oaks and Double File Trail. And once upon a time I taught in the 5th grade classroom. Confused yet? Sometimes I am...
Even though I graduated from Round Rock High School long ago, I now root for the McNeil Mavs where my daughter Sophie is a Varsity Cheerleader. My son Gibson (Go Cedar Valley Jags!) loves basketball and should maybe play more of that and less Xbox; but he's super funny so that makes up for it. Lady (a.k.a LadyBug) is our amazing rescue dog who gives us the love and doggie kisses we need everyday.
The above tabs link you to information for each of my 2 Art Rooms. So, if you don't know where to find me, you can at least start there?! I'm looking forward to a CREATIVE year with all of my Great Oaks Geckos and Blackland Prairie Wildcats!
