Mrs. Knicky's Class

About the Teacher:

Welcome to the land of Knicky's Gnomes!

I am so excited and eager for this year in third grade! This will be my 5th year of teaching. Prior to teaching in third grade, I have taught fifth, fourth, and first grades. I have also had multiple experiences within gifted and special education environments and am familiar with students many diverse needs. I graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have teaching certificates in Early childhood education through sixth grade, Kindergarten-12th grade All Level Special Education, and English as a Second Language Supplemental.

My wonderful husband, Matt, and myself are expecting our first baby boy, Crue Patrick Knicky, this October. We are excited to share this time with my sweet students and their families! Family is very important to me, when I am not at school I try to spend as much time with them as possible. On the weekends I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhusker football team.

My classroom climate:

•Ensures students feel safe and valued-We celebrate all students and any and all progress that is made!

•Cultivates collaboration and supporting relationships between school and home to ensure a shared commitment to quality education

•Superior educational experience that is dedicated to teaching to the whole child and his/her multiple intelligences.

•Student-centered atmosphere that is stimulating, technologically driven, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs and interests of all my students.

•Engaging, rigorous, relevant, effective, and differentiated instruction and methods that are vertically aligned, research based and meaningful to your 21st century learner.
