Wellness and Physical Education
Welcome all Laurel Mountain students and families! We are all so excited to be here and ready for another enriching school year. As I begin my tenth year here at LME, I'm excited to see familiar smiling faces as well as many new ones, and here about your summer adventures soon.
This summer I spent much time with my family, a little travel, and a lot of relaxing. I hope you did too. My oldest daughter, Morgan, graduated from Texas Tech University in May. The two of us celebrated this summer with a memorable trip to New York City. My youngest daughter, Ashlyn, is already back in Lubbock and ready to start her second year at Texas Tech University.
My husband John and I started playing golf together this summer. We will continue enjoying time together with our three dogs, exercising, and continuing to follow Westwood sports and Texas college football teams. We've always been Texas Longhorn fans, but we're learning how to hold up our "Wreck 'em Tech" signs for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Exercising has always been part of my life whether through team sports or exercise. As a Jazzercise franchise owner for many years in Cedar Park, I found sharing group exercise with my adult students fulfilling. However, I've experienced an even greater satisfaction working with LME students in Physical Education.
My goal as a Physical Education teacher is to help children develop a love and respect for their bodies through exercise and educating them about healthy lifestyle choices. I strive to live by example, teach with energy and enthusiasm, and creating a safe enriching environment for all.
