MEET THE COUNSELORS
Amanda Embry
This is my 23rd year in education and 7th year at Live Oak. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve all our Legends. I am on campus Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2000 and spent 10 years as a classroom teacher before earning my graduate degree in Counseling & Guidance from Texas State University. My favorite part about being a counselor is forming connections with students and working with families and teachers to help each child feel comfortable and reach their potential.
My husband and I live in Leander and have twin boys who are in 7th grade this year.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

This is my 6th year at Live Oak and I'm so happy to be here supporting LOE students and families!
This is my 25th year in RRISD, having been a counselor at Deerpark and teacher at Spicewood Elementary.
I have a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University and a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
My husband and I have two daughters and three grandbabies. Spending time with them is my favorite thing to do when I'm not at Live Oak!
As a school counselor, I believe it's important to help each student feel heard, respected, and valued. It's important to me to celebrate our diversity and create an inclusive atmosphere where all feel they belong. By supporting our students' social and emotional well-being, we can impact their academic success and create resilient learners.
Social emotional education is my passion and I love helping students learn skills, strategies and behaviors to support their wellbeing.
Please let me know if I can be supportive in any way.
