Mrs. Kinsey

Hi! I am Mrs. Karina Kinsey.

This is my sixth year teaching at Westwood High School. I am teaching AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles this school year. This will be my third year teaching Computer Science at Westwood; I previously taught AP Computer Science Principles and Computer Science 1. Previously I taught at Weslaco High School in Weslaco, TX and Northwest High School in Clarksville, TN. My previously taught courses include Algebra I, Algebra I EOC, Algebra 1 and Geometry Accelerated Combo, Geometry, Geometry Investigations, Geometry for NWHS Health Science Academy, Geometry Honors, and Senior Finite.

I obtained my teaching certification through UTeach at the University of Texas at Austin where I also earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Sciences with a focus on teaching Computer Science and Mathematics. Although I am not originally from Austin, my time at UT has made Austin feel like my second home. I am originally from Weslaco, TX and have also lived in Clarksville, TN briefly while my husband was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. I am excited to be back in Austin and blessed to have the opportunity to continue to teach in my second home.
