Reserve your books online anytime through the Library Catalog (place a hold). Your username & password are both your 6-digit Student ID number (with no "s").
Check student's gmail on Monday evening to see if books will be ready that week.
Reserve a pick-up appointment using the link embedded in the notification email so we can prepare your order.
Book Limit per student = 3
If you do not reserve a pick-up appointment, your books will not be available.
When you pull up to the Grab & Go sign, please pop open your trunk and we'll place your books safely inside.
Please remain in your car for pick-up.
Do not return books in plastic bags.
After you've collected your new books, place your returned books directly into the return bin.
Sorry, books cannot be renewed at this time.
Books are due in two weeks. Please return your books on time so other students have a chance to read them!
WHEN & HOW will I be notified if I have books available that week?
An automatically-generated email will go out to STUDENT GMAIL ACCOUNTS on MONDAY EVENING from the England Library if you have holds that will be available that week.
QUESTION: I didn't get an email this Monday Evening but in "My Account" in the catalog, it shows I have books available. Can I still come get them?
Sorry, but no. We are heavily modifying a system meant for in-person non-pandemic library times, so what the system shows you is not always accurate. Please wait for an email to avoid confusion and sad feelings.
WHEN should I pick up books once I get the email?
You MUST RESPOND BY SELECTING A PICK-UP TIME on the link provided in the email, or we will not have books outside ready at the curb for you. Unfortunately, we are unable to go back in the building during our curbside hour to retrieve additional books.
Once you receive the Monday Evening email, you have five pick-up appointment hours to choose from during the week! If you do NOT sign up for an appointment, the books will go back on the shelves on Friday afternoon of that week.
HOW many books can I check out?
In order to serve as many students as possible, we are only able to check out 3 books per student.
HOW many books can I put on hold?
You should put 5 books on hold, but only the first 3 will be checked out to you if they are available. Keep in mind that if you select popular titles, your books may not be available right away.
CAN I put 5 books of a popular series on hold (like, Dog Man, or a Bluebonnet Book, for example)?
Just like during a normal school year, we want to make sure everyone gets a chance to read our most popular books! So, put a variety of books on hold and it will increase your chances of getting 3 books at a time.
I returned my books LAST week. Why is my library account still showing them as overdue or checked out?
Returned books will be quarantined for a week BEFORE being checked in & shelved. Read more below about our COVID-19 Safety Protocols in place in the section below.
Anything else I need to know?
Please be patient. There are two of us and 1,100+ students, and we are working super hard to implement a brand new service; making sure our students have books to read!
We would like to address the basics of our safety plan as guided by the American Library Association. Preliminary research suggests that the COVID-19 virus can survive on library books, & paper/cardboard for up to a week.
Library staff will wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling books.
Returned books will be quarantined for a week BEFORE being checked in & shelved.
Returned items will appear on your account for a week as they are in quarantine and untouched.
As a courtesy to all students, please return your books in a timely manner.
At Grab & Go, we will have curbside bins for you to return your books respecting social distance.
