Welcome parents to DreamBox! DreamBox is an online math platform offered to all RRISD K-5 students during the 2020-21 school year, and Dreambox will continue to be utilized in some Middle School Math 6-8 courses. We are providing videos and documents linked below that will help ease you into this new learning platform and give advice about how to support students as they cleverly work through DreamBox lessons and activities.

IPad: More Info - LOGGING IN USING Classlink with an iPad:
1) Make sure that the DreamBox Math app is downloaded on the iPad. Update this App if it was previously installed.
2) Open your browser and the Classlink portal launchpad.
3) Select the DreamBox Learning icon in order to launch the DreamBox app.
4) The DreamBox Math app will open with the student automatically logged in.
If trouble occurs, try deleting, downloading again, and installing the iPad app again. Update if necessary.

IPad: Más información - INICIAR SESIÓN UTILIZANDO Classlink con un iPad:

Students should work on DreamBox lessons by themselves. DreamBox has an adaptive engine that uses its intelligence to create a learning path for students. Please take a look at the DreamBox at Home Learning Guide and if you want to know more, watch the videos below to understand how DreamBox works and why students need productive struggle in order to learn.

Students should complete 5-10 lessons a week. They are welcome to complete more lessons (K-2 lessons are much shorter), but try to consider screen time - too much of anything isn't the best idea.

Mathematicians generalize patterns and relationships
The role of the student is to be actively involved in making sense of mathematics tasks by using a variety of strategies and representations, justifying solutions, making connections (generalizations) to prior knowledge or familiar contexts and experiences, and considering the reasoning of others.
DreamBox allows for this process to happen as students engage in a game-like format and interact with a variety of representations. They develop and use strategies as they make their own decisions about how they solve a problem. DreamBox pays attention to how students engage with a lesson, and the adaptive engine provides the next best learning opportunity.
Productive struggle is the magic place where new learning occurs.
