About Coach Burns: 

This is Coach Burns' third year at McNeil High School and the start of her 16th year teaching/coaching. Burns is a native Texan and graduated from Euless Trinity High School (in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex), where she lettered in Volleyball and earned an Academic All-State award her senior year. She also participated in basketball during her high school career. She attended The University of Texas at Austin where she earned her Bachelors degree in Mathematics with a focus in teaching through the UTeach Natural Science Program in 2009. Besides teaching math, she is also McNeil's Head Varsity Volleyball coach and an assistant girls track coach. During her teaching career she has taught 8th Grade Math (5 years), Honors Algebra I (5 years), and Algebra II (10 years). She has two children and an amazing husband (he also works in education as a principal). Coach Burns has a passion for both mathematics and coaching. She loves mathematics and loves teaching it to people.
