About Ms. Marks

I am very excited to be the librarian at Brushy Creek! This will be my sixth year in education, having previously worked as both a regular campus substitute and a 2nd grade teacher. 

The library has always been my happy place, even as an elementary student myself. My own elementary librarian is the person who helped unlock and inspire my love of reading and I hope to do the same for our Brushy Creek Blue Jays. 

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education, focusing on Elementary from Angelo State University (where my school colors were also blue and gold like Brushy Creek!) My passion for literacy pushed me onto the school librarianship path, where I got my Masters in Information Studies, focusing on school librarianship from The University of Texas at Austin. I am a proud UT alum as I grew up in the Austin area, around Longhorn events, and have 2 UT grads in my family in my mom and brother.
