Rediscover. Discuss. Celebrate.
Join Monticello’s Declaration Book Club, a free, three‑session series designed to spark meaningful conversations about the Declaration of Independence, its origins, and what it means for us today. Each session brings curated short readings, videos, timelines, and guiding questions around three themes: 1776 (the founding ideals), 1826 (its legacy and memory), and “Legacies” (how it has shaped movements from Stanton to MLK Jr.).
Whether you're part of a book club, classroom, faith group, or civic circle, this toolkit helps participants explore the Declaration’s enduring promise. Monticello collaborated with More Perfect to offer this engaging, age‑inclusive program. It's entirely online and ready to download—perfect for in‑person or virtual conversation.
In honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, America’s 100 Documents is a new initiative developed by the National Archives Foundation in partnership with More Perfect, that highlights 100 key documents that have shaped the nation’s history, ideals, and identity. From founding texts to pivotal court decisions, these documents, photographs, maps, and drawings tell the story of American democracy—its struggles, its successes, and its continuing evolution.
This project is part of the More Perfect campaign to strengthen civic education and engagement ahead of 2026. It’s designed to spark reflection and conversation about who we are as a nation and where we’re headed. Have fun with history!
