OUR PURPOSE
Welcome to the ROE #13 Virtual Academy (ALOP - High Needs), a unique and supportive individualized online learning program designed for our students in grades 4-12th from our 57 area schools. This program is not a replacement, but a supportive addition to our area schools, providing an alternative learning through homebound instruction for students who are temporarily unable to attend full-time, in-person schooling due to a documented medical or mental health condition.
We understand that every student's learning journey is unique, and we believe that no circumstance should hinder their academic progress. That's why we've created this individualized program to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive, no matter their situation.
Our Virtual Academy utilizes the accredited Acellus curriculum, a comprehensive and engaging program that allows students to work towards their academic goals. With our AI tutor providing students 1:1 personalized education, implementing coursework at their individual pace and the appropriate level. Students progress with concept-based mastery and without any knowledge gaps thereby increasing academic confidence and success.
But we're not just about academics. We understand the importance of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Life Skills in shaping well-rounded individuals. That's why these daily elements are integral parts of our program.
Every day, our dedicated team monitors the educational progress of each student, providing guidance and support when needed. We're here to make sure that every student feels seen, heard, and valued. In addition to connecting daily with an interactive virtual peer group, weekly individual sessions are scheduled to develop SEL skills and promote individualized goal achievement.
The ROE #13 Virtual Academy is a program that works in tandem with our area schools. It's important to note that enrollment in our Virtual Academy is based on a referral from individual home district schools. They assess if ROE#13 Virtual Academy is the best option for their student, ensuring that each learner's unique needs and circumstances are taken into consideration.
Join us at the ROE #13 Virtual Academy, where we're redefining the boundaries of learning and helping our students achieve their full potential, not only academically but in becoming confident and equipped members or our community.
