Midterm Exam Prep
Thursday, January 4, 2024
With the semester ending shortly and exams beginning on Thursday, January 18, use today's Advisory period to prepare students for midterm exams and to meet with students individually to discuss where they stand in their classes:
Tutoring Lab/Writing Center Student Visits
National Honor Society students and Writing Center tutors will be visiting all homerooms to spend a few minutes talking about what services the Tutoring Lab and Writing Center offer. They will also discuss good study habits, etc. The list of all students, as well as the homerooms they are assigned to, is posted below. Please allow these students to go to their assigned room after announcements. It should take approximately 10 minutes.
Midterm Prep
A copy of the exam schedule is available below. This can be distributed to students so they can fill it in and see when each of their exams are scheduled.Â
A study plan calendar is also provided. Students can fill this out to help them plan when to best study for each exam and balance other obligations they may have. Feel free to distribute to students if this is something that will be helpful to your homeroom.
Go over exam procedures with students (importance of studying and study techniques, being on time to school, weighting, etc.)
Grade Check-Ins
Homeroom teachers should split up the roster and meet with students individually to go through their grades and discuss where they stand.
When students are not meeting with a teacher, they should be organizing their materials and creating a study plan for midterms.
