Here is our YouTube playlist of ROCK Talks

Inspired by TED Talks, which are devoted to spreading ideas via powerful 18 minute or less talks, our ROCK TALK is a venue where staff from Rocklin Unified can share their ideas.

Besides being our identity here in Rocklin, The letters R.O.C.K. are an acronym for the mission of these talks.

REFLECTIONS: "Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."- Søren Kierkegaard"

  • Reflecting on our work and craft enhances its meaning and encourages insight and complex learning.

OUT OF THE BOX: "Move Fast and Break Things" Mark Zuckerberg.

  • Innovative ideas and practice comes out of conceptualizing problems differently.

CONNECTIONS: “When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world" John Muir

  • Connections are key to our lives as educators. We CONNECT with students, campus, district, community and beyond.

KUDOS: "We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives" John Kennedy

  • The power of praise can be lead to pride, pleasure and increased feelings of self-esteem.

These kicked off our Learning Fest in 2016 with ROCK TALKS from Shari Anderson's " Journey to 21 Commons" and Scott Collins "Connections". These talks will continue throughout the year and beyond where we will hear from staff members throughout the district. We continued these during our Spring PD with videos highlighting RUSD staff members.
