From Coach Kara Penney:
My proudest moment all season was seeing every one of our athletes improve their personal records in their individual events by the end of the season. It was great to see the improvement that every athlete made on our team.
I was also very proud to see our four individuals Mia, Emilee, Luca and Mike qualify for states along with our 4x4 team Mia, Emilee, Brianna and Grace.
One last moment I was proud of were the students that just missed the qualifications to compete at states, I know that some of our athletes that didn't qualify this winter have a great season ahead of them this spring.
Most Improved - Kayla Shubert
Best Attitude - Josh Campoverde
Best Role Model - Phil Simpson
Everyone beat their personal record in 1 event by the end of the season.
For a team that had competed not in the last 10 years our seniors and captains came to practice with a great work ethic. We were all over the place to find spaces to practice. The hallways, the weight room, the gym, the track and they always were willing and able to adjust to the different environment of each practice.
We look forward to that same positive attitude next year as we keep adjusting!
Next year, we want to double the amount of athletes that qualify for states next year. We have a great group of kids that have great work ethics, positive attitudes and want to do well so the future looks bright!
