ROCKLAND- The Rockland Daycare at 394 Union Street will be moving locations into the Rockland High School hallway that the preschoolers currently occupy at the beginning of the fall of 2023.
The preschoolers have been at Rockland High school for around 15 years. Now there are discussions of the children in the Rockland Daycare moving in next.
Some people are quite excited about the idea of them coming here.
“I love seeing preschool children here and it will be cute to see little ones here. It’s always a nice breath of fresh air when you see them outside or picking up their lunch” English teacher Ms. Kristen Walsh said.
The daycare moving into the high school won’t be that big of a change considering there have been preschoolers here for a long time.
“I’m curious to see if they have to do some construction to change the classrooms around a little bit since it could be younger kids,” said freshman Aubrey Glover.
But people also have some concerns about the high school hallway being occupied by younger children again.
“It gets a little annoying because sometimes I could be late to my classes on that side because I have to walk all the way around,” Glover said.
Yet even though some people have some complaints or concerns about the high school hallway students have been able to work around it for many years before.
“I think that it will be interesting to see how the age differences will change things but other than them being younger and maybe a little louder I don’t think there will be a difference between them and the preschoolers,” Ms. Walsh responded.
The preschoolers will not be at Rockland High school for much longer.
Superintendent Dr. Alan Cron explained, “Rockland Preschool is relocating to the Esten Early Childhood Center at the end of this school year.”
