ROCKLAND- The Rockland High Travel Club will host a meeting on Tuesday, October 8 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria to share the three trip options over the next three years.
The meeting is for students and parents and guardians.
The three upcoming trips will be to Europe in April 2025, the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador in 2026, And Europe again in 2027. Specifically, students will be able to see Ireland, Wales, England and Paris in April, and in 2027, the tour will stop in Germany, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
One of the teachers who has traveled as a chaperone with Travel Club is Science Department Chair Ms. Julia DiCanzio.
“I have been to eight countries with the class at least, I’ve been to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Switzerland with the school,” Ms. DiCanzio said.
She also had tried to learn their greetings, hellos, and goodbyes.
The first country she went to with the Travel Club was the United Kingdom.
Ms. DiCanzio said, “I would love to see France” which she will get to do as a chaperone on this year’s tour, which includes Paris.
Junior Kiley Murdock went to Italy during her freshman year in 2023, and when she was there she tried reading signs, asking waiters/waitresses at the local restaurants and so much more when it came to speaking Italy’s native language Italian.
Any student interested in joining a Travel Club tour should see Ms. Kristen Walsh, Travel Club advisor, in room 121 or come to the meeting on October 8.
