ROCKLAND- A new restaurant opened in Rockland this year, bringing a popular chain to Market Street. Located right next to Domino’s, Santa Fe Burrito Grill brings a touch of Mexican cuisine to the local streets.
Although known for their burritos, they hold a wide variety of options including bowls, tacos, nachos, salads, and even dessert. With the large number of options available as well as the affordable prices, the location has quickly become a hit among Rockland’s residents.
“For a place like Rockland, it’s affordable for adults and students. It’s cheap for [students] to go and get food,” WRPS Manager Mr. Christopher Burnieika explained.
In addition to its low prices, Santa Fe delivers quality with every order.
Guidance Counselor Casey Morrison enjoys having a close alternative to Chipotle, but described the food as “too fresh” due to the lack of preservatives.
Sante Fe offers promotion on Mondays where burritos and other meals are available for as little as five dollars.
“I got a bowl on a five dollar Monday. It was Spanish rice, chicken, corn, lettuce, and queso. On a scale of one to ten, it’s definitely above an eight,” senior Leo Figueiredo said.
Before the Rockland location opened, many students regarded Chipotle as the optimal place to go for Mexican food. While there was another Santa Fe location in Weymouth, it was much less popular among the population due to its distance and convenient hours, being open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“My experience was very good. I thought it moved very efficiently compared to Chipotle sometimes which is kind of a similar style dining experience,” math teacher Mr. Jared Lordi explained.
This past Sunday, I went in to get a steak burrito and came out about three minutes later. The service is extremely fast and those working at the counter ensure you get what you asked for, regardless if you order in person or online.
While there are a lot of options for food on and around Market Street, Santa Fe is a clear standout. The environment is clean and the staff are very friendly and hard-working, and the high quality of the food is the perfect result.
The best part is the cost, however. The luxurious taste of Santa Fe’s dishes are affordable to the average person in Rockland.
The Rockland location was the seventh Santa Fe location to open. In its short time so far, it has already proven to be a significant addition to the town, receiving little to no negativity from the people of Rockland, foreshadowing a very promising and prospering future.
