ROCKLAND- The Pentelic Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted twenty new members and said goodbye to the class of 2023 on May 23.
The ceremony, led by NHS President, senior Shane Daly, was held in the auditorium after dinner with members and their faculty sponsors. Students chose sponsors who have helped them in their high school journey and included teachers, coaches, guidance counselors, and Principal Dr. Harrison.
Each senior member receives a certificate of membership and will wear a special tassel and stole at graduation reflecting their achievements.
English teacher and department chairperson, Ms. Kendra Donovan, was surprised when she was inducted by the seniors as an honorary member. Ms. Donovan was NHS advisor until last year and had many of the students in her English class.
