ROCKLAND- On Friday, September 6, Rockland High 2015 graduate and current professional golfer, Megan Khang, delivered a custom Bulldogs golf cart to gift to the school.
Khang visited the school last year, saw that the golf cart used for athletics and other events was severely run-down and in disrepair, and reached out to see if the school could use a new one.
“It’ll be a huge help with regards to providing stability in transportation and safety and will be used by our licensed athletic trainer Serena Speight. We are forever grateful to LPGA Champion and Bulldog alum, Megan Khang for this generous contribution to our athletic program,” said coach and Athletic Director Mr. Dan Kimball.
She worked with Club Car, the company that donated the cart, to design it in honor of her 10-year anniversary of graduating from RHS.
“It’s always wonderful to see students give back after they graduate, and we’re so grateful for Megan’s generosity and kindness. Rockland High students and staff can feel proud to drive around in this new cart,” said Khang’s former teacher, Ms. Kristen Walsh.
When the cart was delivered, Khang was met by a group of students, faculty, and administrators, who wanted to thank her and wish her luck in the rest of the LPGA season.
Khang joined the LPGA right after graduation and has become a respected and successful golfer on tour. Her first tour victory came in Canada in 2023, and she has more than 40 top-10 finishes in tournaments.
She was able to visit Rockland High to deliver the cart between competing at the inaugural FM Championship in Norton, and this weekend’s Solheim Cup, where she will be on Team USA for the fourth time.
“Megan Khang is one of the most humble and generous people I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting to know. She is a true example of representation of Rockland. We’re very lucky to receive the cart and always have her support at Rockland High,” said fellow 2015 graduate and history teacher Mrs. Kara Frazer.
