ROCKLAND- As fall starts to get into full swing, it’s time to get ready for Rockland High’s Homecoming Weekend.
Friday, October 6 will be the Bulldogs’ Homecoming football game against Norwell at Veterans’ Memorial Stadium, starting at 7 p.m.
During half-time, the Class of 2024’s Miss Rockland winner will be announced. The nominees are Maggie Elie, Mary McPartlin, Nayla Chaves, Karen Araujo, and Avery Burke. The girls will be escorted to the field where the winner will be announced.
Following the game, the Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, October 7 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The last chance to get into the dance will be at 8 p.m. and the earliest students can leave is 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale until Friday, October 6 at all lunches for $15.
If you want to bring a date from another school, outside guests are permitted as long as they sign a guest permission slip. These can be picked up and turned in at the ticket sale table.
While buying tickets, students can vote for each grade’s homecoming court, which will be announced during the dance.
This is the first year that the dance has been planned by the Student Council.
Student Council advisor, Ms. Kirsten Bartaloni, said, “We invested a lot of money in the DJ…uplighting to create an ambiance, we’ll have a professional photographer that can take pictures of friend groups or dates.”
The dance will remain in the high school gym like in past years, with water available in the hallway outside. The night will be filled with dancing, music, photos, and more.
