ROCKLAND- At Rockland High School, students are preparing to take final exams from June 10-16.
“While some surrounding schools don't take a final exam, I feel that it does benefit us and prepare us for college,” described junior Kayla Shubert.
Since some schools around Rockland don’t take finals, students feel that taking finals during high school helps them prepare for the future.
“I feel like some teachers have prepped us, and I feel confident in passing, and others I don’t feel like have prepped us much, and I’m gonna have to study twice as hard. I’m excited to get it done and not have to worry about anything else,” explained freshman Delilah Swan.
The first day of finals begins on June 10 for A and B block exams. Then, June 11 and 12 are C, D, E, and F blocks. June 13 is for L block exams and any make-ups needed.
“For my final exams, I study based on how confident I am in the class and try to prioritize subjects I’m less confident about,” stated Shubert.
Taking finals causes students to have a lot of stress as they begin studying for every class.
“I think finals are ok this year because teachers are preparing, but it really depends on the teacher and if they teach their lessons well,” said freshman Isabelle Mars.
Since finals are a significant concern, students must rely on their teachers to ensure they understand all the material so they can pass.
