Professional Profile
Mr. Eliason has been teaching music and choir in the Rockford Area Schools since 2000. Mr. Eliason is also the Arts Magnet Coordinator at REAMS. In this role, he works with creating and leading staff development for teachers to assist in infusing the arts into the core curriculum. He manages artists in residence and/or arts field trips for each grade level. In addition to these opportunities, he teaches third grade music and fourth grade music at REAMS as well as other arts enrichment troupes for fourth grade students.
Mr. Eliason graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Vocal Music Education from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, received his Masters of Arts in Learning Technology from the University of St. Thomas, and received his Educational Specialist degree in administration and leadership at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Outside of school, Mr. Eliason has sung with several different vocal ensembles. He has been a board member, director, and actor for 4 Community Theater based in Western Hennepin and Eastern Wright counties as well.
Mr. Eliason has been active in the American Choral Director’s Association of Minnesota (ACDA), Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA), and the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME). His passions, besides teaching and leading students and staff, include all styles of music, theater, traveling, hiking, gardening, and camping at MN state parks. He has even been trying more downhill skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking as of late.
