Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment

Information: https://accuplacer.collegeboard.org/sites/default/files/accuplacer-tsi-assessment-student-brochure.pdf

The TSI Assessment is a program designed to help your institution determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the general areas of reading, writing and mathematics. This program also will help determine what type of course or intervention will best meet your needs to help you become better prepared for college-level course work if you are not ready. If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment — unless you are already exempt (read below) — to determine your readiness for college-level work. Based on how you perform, you may either be enrolled in a college-level course that matches your skill level or be placed in the appropriate developmental course or intervention to improve your skills and prepare you for success in college level courses.

Where can I take the TSI assessment?

The TSI assessment can be taken at numerous places around the State. Three very close locations are:

  • Roby High School (Roby, Texas) 325-776-2222 ext.103
  • Texas State Technical College (Sweetwater, Texas) 325-235-7441
  • Western Texas College (Snyder, Texas) 325-574-7621

How much does it cost to take the test?

The three institutions referenced here require a $10 per section (rates are subject to change). However, if you are a current Roby High School student, Roby CISD will play for each section of the test once ($30 maximum). Contact the institution for more information.
