On Friday, October 4th, my class took a trip to Hannaford in Brandon. We toured the produce section, saw where the produce is prepared, had a snack of fresh fruit and then we decorated a cake in the bakery section. We also toured the butcher section and helped grind beef into chopped meat. We also learned about the guiding stars and how to pick healthy foods. We toured the back of the store and watched as boxes were crushed and saw where the trucks unload the food that comes into the store. Then we checked out toothbrushes which were placed in the kids own goodie bags that we got to take home. We brought the cake back to school and had a special snack and Hannaford also gave us some goldfish, pretzels and cereal for our classroom. Thank you Hannaford for a wonderful trip!! Enjoy the pictures of our time in Hannaford.
On Thursday, my class took a trip to the Winslow's Pumpkin Farm. The children listened to a story about the life cycle of a pumpkin and then got to choose a pumpkin and a gourd to take home. Here are some pictures of our trip.
On Friday, our class went for a snow shoe! It was a beautiful way to spend the afternoon. Enjoy the pictures of our adventure!
Our class made gingerbread houses on Friday, December 13th. This was a culminating activity to our Gingerbread Man unit.
Here are some pictures of our gingerbread workshop.
On Thursday, December 19, all the kindergartners went to the library to listen to the story Stranger in the Woods. The story was about children who built a snowman and used food for the wild animals as the snowman's decorations. When the story was over, the children returned to the classroom and made some decorations for wild animals. Then in the afternoon, we went into the woods to decorate trees with cheerios chains, scattered bird seed and scattered sliced apples.
On Tuesday, February 4th, our class completed our bottle cap mural. We worked all morning with Mr. B. attaching the bottle caps and all afternoon painting to finish the mural. Our finished project is hanging outside our classroom. Come take a look!
Here are some pictures of the classroom pirates!
Good morning and I hope everyone is well.
