My name is Clay Smeltzer and I help people own themselves, love their story, and live with purpose. I didn’t always do this, quite frankly, after I graduated from Red Lion and had to stop playing college baseball because of injury, I floated through most of my life. I didn’t really know what I was truly about or why I was here on this big ball of mud we call Earth. Then anxiety took over controlling my thoughts, actions, mood, and just about everything. I islanded myself off, didn’t talk about it, thought I was weak, pathetic, and I was ashamed. Went through two anxiety spirals, divorced twice, financial decline, and a bunch of other junk to get to the point where I had ENOUGH. Something had to CHANGE and that something was ME. If you deal with anxiety please come see me and let’s help each other out because I know how much it SUCKS but it doesn’t have to.

Lori Albright, CRNP, PMHNP-BC is the nurse practitioner for Footprints to Recovery in Wayne, PA. Footprints to Recovery is an outpatient substance abuse program specializing in the treatment of substance use disorder, trauma, grief & loss, and relapse prevention. Nearly everyone today in the US has firsthand experience with someone, whether it is themselves, a loved one or a friend who has suffered from substance use disorder. While the program only treats adults, the majority of our clients are 18 – 25 years old. Lori medically manages the client’s psychiatric disorders, offers Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorders, and coordinates with the treatment team which is comprised of trauma and grief & loss therapists.
Brigid Spollen, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing care at Footprints to Recovery in Wayne, PA. As part of her duties at Footprints to Recovery, Brigid facilitates group counseling sessions, conducts initial evaluations, and provides individual counseling sessions. Because everyone comes with their own unique experience and journey, treatment is not “one size fits all.” A multi-dimensional criteria tool is used during the initial evaluation process to match each person with the most effective interventions and support. Brigid has a special interest in working with grief and loss, and family issues and dynamics. Group topics at Footprints to Recovery include these areas, as well as others: Art Therapy, Mindfulness, Relapse Prevention, Stress Management, Trauma Processing, etc. Brigid additionally volunteers at a local agency with children and teens who have experienced the death of a loved one. Brigid is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which helps individuals reprocess significant/traumatic life experiences and develop more adaptive coping skills.
The workshop will be about defining trauma, the common coping with substance abuse and other maladaptive behaviors, healthy alternatives, and treatment options. Students will also learn about symptoms of substance abuse and resources to identify treatment options. The hope is that there can be open discussion and dialog prompting questions and curiosity.
The Daily Grind ..... How to Stay Mentally Strong.
SAFE or OUT? YES or NO? RIGHT from WRONG?
STRESSED or FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real)?
Whether I’m on the softball field working as a professional umpire, or coaching the Red Lion Varsity Softball team or simply being a person trying to get through life - it takes a positive attitude and just as important you must be Mentally Strong. My name is Steve Gould and I am hoping you give me the opportunity to share with you how to positively get through the DAILY GRIND - the good and the not so good. We all have had our own experiences with tough days.
ASK YOURSELF THIS:
Do I give a crap or not?
Do I react or pro-act to tough day?
Am I mentally prepared for or am I surprised by a tough day?
Is it a big deal or something I know how to properly deal with and can move on from?
I have been in the medical field for 20 plus years, I currently co-own Diamond Umpire Academy, while being a Professional Umpire within the National Professional Fast Pitch league. I also umpire within the NCAA - those conferences include SEC, B10 and ACC. So tough days, tough calls and sometimes not so ’friendly‘ people is something I deal with everyday in front of MILLIONS of people on the TV while at my job!
I look forward to meeting and discussing being Mentally Strong so that we can together overcome and move on from our own tough days.
How often do you get a compliment or praise? How do you respond? Do you find yourself doubting your abilities and value? If so, please join us as we talk about how accept ourselves and receive compliments.

I am a United States Marine Corps veteran who holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology. I currently work in the mental health field and in 2018 I transitioned our family farm into a non-profit to support the physical and mental health of local veterans. As the founder and director of Glenn Hope Care Farm, my goal was to bridge the gap between health care and natural healing environments. We embrace “Green Care” philosophies on the farm, which is a term that is used to describe psychological, educational and physical interventions that involve using plants, animals and a nature environment to heal the human mind, body and spirit. At the same time that I found Glenn Hope Care Farm, I concurrently founded Glenn Hope Agricare which is our for-profit entity that focuses on farming operations and production. Being a small business owner isn’t always easy, but it was necessary in order to bring something to the community that we needed but did not yet exist.
