Help With Maths

In Maths lessons at Rudyard Kipling Primary, children are encouraged to be independent and confident problem solvers. Carefully planned lessons, paired with a range of high quality resources, means that all children are able to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Children are provided with opportunities to use their mathematical knowledge to explain their answers using reasoning. Children who are able to quickly grasp new concepts, are encouraged to explore them more deeply through challenges and extensions.

We run half termly maths competitions to encourage children to develop their fluency and rapid recall of mathematical facts, which children thoroughly enjoy!

Extra support is provided through daily maths interventions including ‘Every Child Counts’ and ‘First Class at Number’ which are led by experienced staff members.
