Speaking
For early learners, language is fundamental. Talking with your child and asking them questions is a great way to expose them to more language.
Ask open-ended questions...
What do you like best about...?
What else do you think you could do with it?
What do you think will happen?
What made you think to do it that way?
How do you know?
Hablar
Listening
Listening is an important skill for children to practice. Here are a variety of activities that you may want to try.
Play "Simon Says"
Play "Red light, green light" (The kids start at one point, and the person leading says, "Green light," which means run, or "Red light," which means stop. The first person to reach the finish line can call the next game.)
Go for a walk and listen to different sounds. Talk with your child about what the different sounds are and where they are coming from.
Play "Mother, May I?" This active game has children taking a baby or giant step toward a finish line by crawling, leaping, or hopping.
Salir a caminar y escuchar diferentes sonidos.
Jugar al "Mother, May I?"

Numbers and Operations
Números y operaciones
Have your child count objects. These could be toys or everyday household objects like the number of pillows on the couch or the number of chairs at the table.
While cooking, have your child count the number of ingredients one by one.
While cooking, ask your child to count out two, three, or four pieces of food, and then ask how many pieces of food there are in total.
After counting objects, you might say, “So, how many are there in all?” or “How many do we have altogether?”
Geometry
Geometría
Ask your child to name the shapes of objects around the house (square, circle, triangle)
Name a shape and ask your child if they can find anything in nature that is the same shape.
Measurement

Talk about the size of different objects. Ask questions like, "Which is shorter, the fork or the spoon?"
When you're using measuring tools in the kitchen, explain why you're measuring and why measuring will help your recipe.
Have your child help you use measuring cups and experiment with them.
