When forced to stay at home we were not allowed to do much, but we were allowed to form bonds. Staying at home has brought me closer with my sister and has allowed us both to meet our new cat.

My art represents hope and life. The world has many things to be grateful for. We all need a little hope in our lives, but if we love protect everyone we know, they will protect who they love, and will get through everything and anything together. It means that you are not alone, ever. There will always be someone who cares for you.

Just because I cannot see my friends and family in person doesn't, mean I can't still play games and talk with them. I put a character from a popular game that I play with people that I can't see in person.

I created this piece to illustrate that although we may need to be distanced from each other, we can still make it fun!
By Ytzcali, student at Sierra Middle School
My submission shows how we have all been affected by this virus and no matter how much we may miss our friends and family, their safety and health is much more important than to have them spend their last moments away from their loved ones. So to protect all our friends and family we should love them from a distance.

The pandemic turned out to be stressful and frustrating and can cause anxiety. These feelings made me think of the game "Old Maid". I made a variant of the game that was Coronavirus themed. The stress and frustration can come from receiving the Coronavirus card and it can continue to be that way if you're stuck with that card. You can feel anxious in fear that you will receive that card. I also made cards that symbolize Coronavirus.
