Julie Christine has been an instructor for the past twenty-one years within the Riverside District and County.  She was also the school's head Athletic Trainer for 17 of those years.  Ms. Christine is passionate about impacting the lives of students through her teaching. Many of her past students who have gone through the pathway over the last 20 years are now working within the medical and public safety industry.

Architectural Design

Entering his 26th year of teaching, Mr. Dietz opened Tomas Rivera Elementary school in 1995 and taught 6th grade for two years.  He taught math and computer science at Amelia Earhart Middle school for three years.  Mr. Dietz then began working at MLKing High School where he has been teaching and coaching for over 21 years.

Film, TV, & Video Production

After graduating from Redlands High School, Jamal Gerren went on to Cal State University San Bernardino where he received a BA in Mass Communication. After which, he attended the Academy of Art San Francisco and received an MFA in Film and Television.  Jamal has been teaching for twenty years and enjoys producing documentaries and spending time with family.

Engineering Design

Martin Luther King High School has been home for Ms. Guzman since 2005 and she provides mentorship to the VEX Robotics Team, Women in Engineering Club, and Skills USA Career and Technical Organization. In addition, she teaches in both the engineering and mathematics departments. She believes that every student must complete our program with the skills to thrive in college and/or a career. Ms. Guzman has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Master's Degree in Educational Technology, credentials in Mathematics & Career Technical Education, and a certification in Project Lead the Way Engineering from CSUSD.

Approaching her twentieth year as a CTE and mathematics teacher, she is passionate about helping students navigate through the curriculum and guiding them to discover their unique paths. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UC Riverside, Master’s of Science in Education from CBU, and dual subject credentials in Business and Math. Her years of teaching in both content areas has given her the ability to show students how math skills and business knowledge can be applied in the real world. Thirteen of Ms. Rye's teaching years have been spent as a CTE instructor (introduction to business, business management, marketing and advertising, accounting and bookkeeping, computer applications, web design, CISCO Networking Academy, and school IT support). She has also founded two successful chapters of SkillsUSA, and is currently a proud DECA advisor at Martin Luther King High School.

Mr. Smith comes to use with a background in Theater, IT, AV, and Electrical. He blends the information that he has learned in the industry over the past 20 years into an art form and teaches the student how to express themselves through the use of technology for live productions.
