Humanities incorporates Language Arts and History. We analyze texts from many genres and do several book studies throughout the year. In History we learn about ancient civilizations and how they've influenced our society today. Instead of focusing on names and dates, I ensure students understand the big ideas of that development and the reasons for why things happened.

This year I will be starting my twentieth year in education with the majority of those years spent as a middle school math teacher. I truly believe math is everywhere and have a passion for helping students see how math is part of their everyday life. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with my family (I have four boys of my own). I can’t wait to see what this school year brings at RSA and I look forward to meeting and supporting you! This is going to be an awesome year and we are going to have a lot of fun!

After 22 years in the classroom, I love learning about new scientific discoveries and how these affect our daily lives. Human perseverance and ingenuity never cease to amaze me. As a father of four kiddos, I look forward to playing and growing as a family. There is never a
dull moment at home :) As a teacher at RSA, I look forward to discovering and learning with you and our classmates this school year. You have the potential to do great things. We believe in you.
